Kate Middleton and Prince William Are Not Content with a Single Kitchen - There has been something of a stir in the U.K. as of late as the cost of
the renovations to Kensington Palace creeps higher, now totaling 4.5
million pounds (equal to some 7.7 million U.S. dollars). The “basic
cost” for these renovations—which will include the removal of asbestos
from the structure—will come out of the “public purse,” though Prince
William and Kate Middleton have said they will pay for “curtains,
carpets, and furniture,” and similar items.

Officials apparently “stressed” yesterday at the briefing that this second kitchen will be paid for entirely by William and Kate. When pressed as to whether Prince Charles will be helping them out with the funds, a spokesman replied, “Many young couples when doing up houses seek help from their parents or grandparents. There may have been some assistance.” So swap out Prince Charles with your parents, and exchange “glam second kitchen” with “these kiiiinda expensive shoes that I don’t, like, need-need, but would be really nice with that green sweater you gave me for Christmas, you know the one?” and you’re basically Kate Middleton.
