So after dozens of online tributes, the flamboyant singer decided to go one better and make her gratitude permanent with a new tattoo.
Fresh from her Grammy success the night before, the 23-year-old went to a tattoo parlour and got the words 'Little Monsters' etched on her left arm in italics on Monday.
After going under the needle, she posted a photo of her new etching on her Twitter page.
She wrote: 'Look what I did last night. Little monsters forever, on the arm that holds my mic. x.'
Her new etching now sits below another tattoo she had done in Japan last year, which quotes her favourite philosopher Rainer Maria Rilke.
Written in German, it says: ''In the deepest hour of the night, confess to yourself that you would die if you were forbidden to write. And look deep into your heart where it spreads its roots, the answer, and ask yourself, must I write?'
