Lady Gaga's poker face isn't for the faint of heart. From her super blunt bangs to her thick false lashes, she looks like she just stepped out of a twisted cabaret, and perfectly so. We've got a few dramatic beauty tips for anyone who wants to go Ga Ga. Meanwhile, you can try on Lady Gaga's makeup and hair in our virtual makeover studio.
"Get the Lady Gaga look in cabaret-inspired makeup and fiercely blunt bangs."
To look like Lady Gaga, opt for full strips of false lashes (do not trim them; the more fluttery, the better) and achieve intense volume with a mascara in jet black, applied in several coats. You can also try colored or glittered lashes for maximum drama. Black liquid liner is a must and you'll want to layer it: set liquid liner with black powder eye shadow to recreate all the depth and drama Lady Gaga is know for. Reuse faux eyelashes by pulling them off gently, wiping them off with a Q-tip doused in eye makeup remover and storing them on a credit card or piece of plastic. Place a single rhinestone under one eye, secured to the skin with eyelash glue, for a sexy songstress effect.
Lady Gaga's lipstick arsenal ranges from the palest frosted pink to the brightest rouge (equally arresting options). Don't be afraid to layer on the gloss; it will call attention to luscious lips and give you that coveted doll face effect.
With a mic in one hand, nails become the focal point. Paint your nails ultra dark or super light for a Lady Gaga inspired look. Try black, red or white (or all three to complement a "poker face.") Add your own glitter to wet nail polish or don a single ace or space-shaped piece of confetti on each nail. Don't use nail glue, simply secure the sparkles by adding them on top of wet nail polish and finishing with a clear top coat.
Rather than try to bleach your hair like Lady Gaga's (a nightmare for any brunette), head to a wig store and try on some blunt styles that you can have your hairstylist bleach, without the damage to your own hair. --Stephanie Simons
