Femme fatale! First look at Lily Cole in Doctor Who playing an evil fire-conjuring monster who lures men to their doom - She's known for knocking them dead on the catwalk - but supermodel Lily Cole's debut on Doctor Who this weekend sees her as a man-killing monster.
The 22-year-old guest stars on Saturday's episode of the BBC1 as a creature called Siren, a red-eyed, flame-haired creature who lures men to their deaths.
However, despite Lily being red-haired in real life, her alien hair is probably a shade brighter than most people are used to.
Scary stuff: Matt Smith as Doctor Who alongside Lily Cole as the terrifying Siren in this weekend's episode of Doctor Who
Pretty hair-raising: The supermodel will play the creature in the pirate-themed episode The Curse Of The Black Spot
She plays the other-worldly monster in The Curse of the Black Spot, an episode set aboard a pirate ship.
Matt Smith, 28, who plays the Doctor said: 'Lily was wonderful. She turns in a great performance – and she was studying for her finals at Cambridge at the time.'
Playing with fire: Lily appeared in films since launching her acting career alongside her modelling, but this is her Doctor Who debut
In real life: Lily as she normally appears, seen here last month
It could be a welcome boost for the well-loved, long-running sci fi show, which has seen viewing figures fall since the start of the new series.
The first episode on Easter Saturday was watched by an average of 6.4million viewers, according to overnight figures, down by almost 1.5million on the equivalent episode last year.
Then last weekend, figures for the second episode of the saw another one million viewers turn off the show.
Some fans are asking if the plotlines are too scary and too complex for its largely family audience - so a pirate episode starring Lily could be just what the Doctor ordered...
Lily's cameo meanwhile is the latest in the beauty's attempt to build on her acting career.
She's already appeared in movies St Trinian's and The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus and has forthcoming roles in There Be Dragons and The Moth Diaries. ( dailymail.co.uk )
