Cash-strapped Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson might have found a new way to generate some income: by hosting a show of her own on Oprah Winfrey’s fledgling cable network, OWN.
Ferguson reportedly has an offer from the network on the table, one that came from Winfrey herself.
“Oprah made the call this week … the offer is a ray of light at the end of a very dark tunnel,” reported Britain’s Daily Mail on Sunday.
A source close to the network said that the deal did not sound like it was out of the realm of possibility.
“She needs cash, and OWN needs content,” said the source.
Another source said that OWN wouldn’t be the first place Fergie tried to land a show. “She’s been pitching to networks for some time,” said the source.
Last May, Ferguson appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to make a public apology after she was caught on videotape selling access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.
On Monday, a spokesperson for OWN said, "We have had initial conversations with Sarah Ferguson about a docu-series, not a talk show, but there is nothing to announce at this time."

'Mad Men' tweets from the 1960s
If you watched Sunday’s season premiere of “Mad Men,” you saw leading man Don Draper struggling to adapt to his newly single life. One thing you didn’t see on the AMC show: he’s adapted quite well to modern technology, especially Twitter.
“Things have been hectic for the last few months, so I haven't had much free time. But it feels good to be the ones running the show again,” @don_draper tweeted from his iPhone on July 21.
The tweets aren’t an advertising stunt the show’s publicity team put into action. Dedicated “Mad Men” fans have been creating accounts imitating the show's characters, and even the office Xerox machine (@Xerox914), which gossips about the documents that are handled by Peggy Olson and company.
As for Olson herself, the woman behind the @PeggyOlson tweets, Carri Bugbee, won a Shorty Award in the advertising category.
But our personal favorite is @sally_draper’s heart wrenching comments about what’s going on in her family, which nearly bring a tear to the eye. “I miss Daddy. @DondraperSCDP” she wrote on July 15.

Fatone heads to 'Dance Your A-- Off'
‘N Sync fans rejoice: Joey Fatone is a guest judge on Monday’s “Dance Your A-- Off,” and he has his sights set on big things. The "Dancing with the Stars" alum said he's trying to branch out and he’s open to the idea of doing a movie with his ex-bandmate, Justin Timberlake.
“Why not?” Fatone said. “If the role is right, and it works, why not?”
As for his stint on “Dance Your A-- Off,” Fatone said, “you would be surprised how vigorous the stuff is.” He was mum on this week’s challenge, only hinting that it has to do with running a mile with an added twist. “You’ll see exactly what I’m talking about!” he said.
Like the “Dance Your A-- Off” competitors, Fatone has been keeping extremely busy. He finished an off-Broadway production of “The Producers” in Pittsburgh, and wrapped up “Inkubus,” a horror film that will either be released in theaters or straight to DVD this October, according to Fatone. He recently dropped a new single, “Radio” on iTunes. Fatone said he wants to showcase his talents on all fronts: theater, film and music.
“I’m more of a triple threat: It’s what I like call myself,” Fatone said. “I’m more of a chameleon. I adapt to whatever you throw at me.”

'Salt' wasn't spicy enough
“Inception” topped newcomer “Salt” at the box office over the weekend. The former made $43.5 million its second weekend in theaters, while the Angelina Jolie-helmed “Salt” made $36.5 million in its debut.
Is Jolie’s star falling? I think not; instead, moviegoers went to the better-reviewed film, and “Inception” had amazing buzz. It’s a movie that invites conversation and debate after it's been screened, which in turn is good for keeping buzz alive, and for ticket sales. ( msn.com )
