Lindsay Lohan offered role to play Charles Manson victim Sharon Tate in new movie - Lindsay Lohan is set to make her big screen comeback as a murder victim if she takes up a new movie deal.

The 24-year-old has been offered the part of Sharon Tate in an upcoming film about Charles Manson.

The movie is called Eyes of a Dream and is being produced by Brad Wyman, one of executives behind Monster starring Charlize Theron.

Her role in Monster won her an Oscar, so it is hoping that the same magic can rub off on the troubled young actress.

TMZ are reporting that Manson will be played by photographer Tyler Shields, who has worked with Lindsay in the past, and he will also be directing the film.

Sharon Tate was an American actress who was married to film director Roman Polanski.

She was eight and a half months pregnant when she was murdered in her home with four other people by Charles Manson followers.

Lohan was tapped to play porn star Linda Lovelace in the film Inferno but was let go from the project after her legal issues and stint in rehab coincided with the shooting dates.

The director initially held out for Lindsay but ultimately could not wait forever and she lost the role last November.

While in rehab, Lohan was embroiled in a fight with Betty Ford worker Dawn Holland and the 911 tape was released last week.

During the five minute recording with the local Sheriff's Department made on December 12 2010 Lindsay tells the Sheriff on the other end of the phone: 'I'm sorry. I'm really uncomfortable with the woman that's in our house.'

'I've never seen her before and she's freaking me out," Lohan tells the 911 operator.'

There is then some rustling and Lindsay can be heard in the background yelling, 'You f**cking c***!'

'Lindsay, you need to pack your sh*t,' Dawn then tells her.

'Now I'm getting ready to file charges on you. Get ready to be sued!'

Lindsay then asks: 'What, you want money?'

'No. What I want is to be treated the way I'm treating you...you are disrespectful!' Dawn then tells her before continuing her conversation with the Sheriff during which she explains how Lindsay and two other girls staying at the facility had broken the rules and crept out of the house.

Holland initially pressed charges against Lindsay but police dropped the case against the embattled star last week.

In a separate case, Lohan is due in a Los Angeles court on April 22 for a hearing in a felony grand theft case filed after a jewellery store accused her of taking a $2,500 necklace.

She has rejected a judge’s offer of a plea deal in her jewellery theft case and is now facing trial.

The Mean Girls star intends to fight a case filed over the alleged theft from a high-end store in Venice, California. ( dailymail.co,uk )
