Bollywood's sibling trail - Katrina's sis wants to act, here's looking at previous star siblings who didn't make a mark
Katrina Kaif is getting ready to bring her younger sister Isabelle into Bollywood. The actress has already spoken to some big time filmmakers who according to her will "do justice to Isabelle's launch". And even as Kat plots and plans her very attractive sister's Bollywood debut; the film industry is skeptical about Isabelle's prospects in the movies.
Here a quick review shows that star siblings have more often failed than passed the Litmus test. Most haven't come anywhere close to the records set by their superstar brother/sister. Let's start with the biggest.

Katrina Kaif with Isabelle
Faisal Khan:
Aamir Khan bullied filmmakers into giving his brother, Faisal a break. He even did the brain-dead Mela (2000) a remake of the 1971 Jeetendra-Asha Parekh super hit Caravan by casting himself in a role parallel to that of Faisal's. But to no avail. Mela remains a blotch on Aamir's report card and far worse it failed to do anything for Faisal.

Arbaaz Khan:
Struck gold with Dabangg (2010) as producer. But as an actor he couldn't match brother, Salman's charisma or career record. Even his wife, Malaika Arora is a bigger box office draw.
Sohail Khan:
He is sometimes considered Salman's nemesis. His presence in Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya (2005), God Tussi Great Ho (2008) and Veer (2010) dented Salman's superstardom.
Siddharth Koirala:
Manisha Koirala's younger brother who had a sound education and decent looks got three chances to prove himself. Fun: Can Sometimes Be Dangerous (2005) Anwar (2007) Dekh Bhai Dekh (2009). But he didn't display even a spark of what elder sister Manisha did in movies like Bombay, Khamoshi or 1942-A Love Story.
Shamita Shetty:
Shilpa Shetty has always been gregarious enough to say that her sister, 31-year-old Shamita had a better figure than hers. And despite Shilpa's generous sister act, Shamita who got noticed in Aditya Chopra's Mohabbattein (2000) quickly became a B-grader. Zeher (2005) and Fareb (2005) didn't allow her to make the mark.
Rinke Khanna:
She's petite, bubblier and displayed more spunk than her elder sister, Twinkle on screen. Films like Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1999) and Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai (2001) got her share of praise for her performance but couldn't measure up to her parents superstardom or her sister Twinkle's debut in Barsaat; Rinke went down South and slipped effortlessly into oblivion.
Tanisha:
Tanisha Mukherjee has inherited mother Tanuja and Kajol's genes but despite getting embraced by the big banners; Titch has failed to break through the clutter.
Exceptions to the rule:
Tabu proved to be a better actress than elder sister Farha. This two time National Award winner is now an acclaimed actress both in India and internationally.
Kareena became a bigger star than Karisma ever was. In the decade since Refugee, she became the reigning Bollywood queen and is one of the best actresses on the scene. With Jab We Met she proved that she should actually get a hero's billing.
Those in the shadow:
Pooja Bhatt's brother Rahul
Barbara Mori's brother Kintaro Mori ( indiatimes.com )
