Kate Middleton, Prince William Pose for Pics at Ayers Rock, Are Endearingly Awkward - We may never be royals, but the royal couple really is just like Us! Kate Middleton and Prince William continued their three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday, April 22, stopping by the Aussie landmark Ayers Rock and admitting how awkward they felt posing for photos.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked picture perfect in front of the stunning rock formation. "So what shall we talk about?" Prince William joked to his wife of nearly three years as they dutifully posed in front of select members of the media. They staged a conversation as photographers looked on, with Kate making expressive hand gestures and William filling the space by saying, "So that's something there…"

Awkwardness aside, the pair reflected on the gorgeous location, as Will told Kate, "It's a beautiful sight though. Quite breath-taking." They watched the rest of the sunset before retiring to a nearby hotel for the evening.
The British beauties followed in the footsteps of Will's parents. Princess Diana and Prince Charles famously visited the same location in the 1980s, posing for similar photos in front of Ayers Rock.

The couple looked spring chic in muted tones for the outback shoot. Middleton, 32, wore a gray-and-white printed short-sleeved Hobbs dress with a white belt (a repeat from a July 2012 appearance in London) and an ornate necklace in earth tones. Prince William, 31, wore khaki pants and a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
While it can't be seen from the stunning photos, the mother and father to Prince George were braving the natural elements during the photo opp, as they were surrounded by flies. "Well that was interesting," William told Kate, who was seen swatting a few flies.
A young girl who was at the event gushed to the Duchess, "You were both like magic when the photos were being taken, I was like 'How are they not swatting flies away?'"
Kate laughed, responding, "I know. It was difficult." Prince William chimed in, "They were all coming for us."
