Lindsay Lohan Pregnant Tweet Confirmed As Hoax
Lindsay Lohan Pregnant Tweet Confirmed As Hoax - Lindsay Lohan is not going to be a mother, yet.
The actress had her fans guessing after the words "Its official. Pregnant..." appeared on her Twitter account as April 1 drew to a close in the US.
But Lohan confirmed Tuesday the cryptic late-night post was an April Fools' Day prank.
The Liz & Dick star deleted the tweet and wrote that she was having some fun. She wrote: "Where's everyone's sense of humor?"
Lohan's proclamation that she was expecting a child caused a frenzy on social media, and several entertainment news outlets reported the tweet while raising the possibility it was a prank.
The 26-year-old has has more than 5.7 million followers on Twitter.
But many concluded the star - who has been repeatedly in trouble with the law - was attempting an April Fools' joke, or someone was doing it for her.
One follower, Brandon Buss, said: "Lindsay Lohan tweets she's pregnant and you guys get all flustered. Check the calendar and get back to me."
Another said: "Let's pray she is in fact not pregnant."
The former child star, who is reportedly dating City Of The Sun guitarist Avi Snow, has been seen in court rather than anywhere near baby shops recently.
Last week she was told she would not be charged in connection with an alleged fight at a nightclub in New York last November after prosecutors concluded there was insufficient evidence.
Earlier in March the Mean Girls actress accepted a plea deal over a car crash in California.
She had been accused of lying to the police about who had been driving her Porsche when it was in collision with a dumper truck and violating the terms of her probation.
That probation relates to a conviction for shoplifting from a jeweller's shop.
In the deal Lohan was sentenced to five days in prison, but that time will be served in rehab rather than a jail.
The deal includes 90 days in rehab, 30 days of community labour, 18 months of psychological counselling and a fine.
Meanwhile, Lohan has been appearing as the on-screen love interest of Charlie Sheen - another star who has been no stranger to controversy - in his sitcom Anger Management. ( Sky News )
