Celebrity New Year's Resolutions for 2013

You're not alone if you're starting out the new year with new resolutions.

The stars are sharing their resolutions for 2013 -- some serious, some tongue-in-cheek.

Jennifer Lawrence told the South African edition of Marie Claire that her New Year's resolution is to "stand up for myself."

"It's hard for me," said the actress who played "The Hunger Games" heroine Katniss Everdeen. "Nobody wants to be disliked. You always want to be polite and be nice."

"I tried to find a balance in saying what I mean and still being nice," Lawrence said. "I can't do it. I have this 'okay' attitude and everything. I end up allowing myself to get walked over and resenting it."

Kelly Ripa

"I have the same resolution every year -- not to sweat the small stuff. So far it hasn't taken!" she told the New York Post.

Kevin Bacon

Kevin Bacon, the inspiration for the game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, is making -- you guessed it -- six resolutions, including spending time with "my favorite (distant) cousin (a.k.a. my wife!)," telling his kids he loves them all the time and supporting Hurricane Sandy rebuilding efforts. His No. 1 resolution, he writes in the Huffington Post, is to get others to support their favorite causes through his non-profit, SixDegrees.org.

Howie Mandel

"America's Got Talent" judge Howie Mandel tweeted his resolution on Twitter: "My new years resolution is to try not to over tweet."

Melissa Joan Hart

Melissa Joan Hart also tweeted her New Year's resolution. "My #2013 resolution is to put my cell phone down more and play with my kids as much as possible," said the actress-mom of three.

Tori Spelling

Spelling, the actress and mother of four, listed her resolutions on her website. They include getting back into her skinny jeans -- "the ones that scream 'We miss you T!' every time I walk past them stacked and dusty in the corner of my closet," she wrote.

She said she also wants to spend more time with her husband, Dean McDermott, and other adults. "Have more than 1 adults-only nights [sic] this year with Dean and our friends," Spelling wrote. She also vowed to take a family vacation this year -- on which she and her husband turn off their phones.

Kevin Jonas

One third of the Jonas Brothers, Kevin Jonas says he wants to get back in shape. "I'm going back on the road, so being able to handle playing for two and half hours onstage takes a lot out of you," he told the Huffington Post.

Lisa Loeb

The singer Lisa Loeb shared her New Year's resolution with the New York Post: "To spend as much quality time as I can with my family, and to play more music -- and to figure out how to balance the two."

Ne-Yo

R&B star Ne-Yo tweeted this resolution: "I'm gonna try to go Vegan. Discipline test. NOT looking forward to it. Wish me luck!!"

Wyclef Jean

The musician tweeted: "Do not remain silence in the face of violence ever again. Each and every abuse is a scar on the World's cheek."
